Record confidence beside the score
Distinguish a supplier statement, a model review, a dry demonstration, and representative welded application evidence. These do not answer identical questions. A high rating based only on an assumption should remain visibly different from one supported by appropriate evidence.
Do not convert that evidence list into a blanket demand for a particular test. The right verification depends on the product and the claim being assessed. The purpose is to prevent uncertainty from disappearing inside a neat spreadsheet.
Use one sample comparison consistently
Give every shortlisted supplier the same representative part information and scope. Ask for clarification where proposals use different handling methods or quote different amounts of application preparation. Only then does the equipment and price comparison become meaningful.
